Introduction - What is it like being a Cosplayer?

Well, I have not done too many cosplays, but I just started out. Cosplay is basically being a character in real life. Ever since I was young, I've always wanted to be someone extraordinary, like a superhero or a savior. Cosplay helps me get as close to the idea as I want to, because 90% of the time, I can't have swagtastic swordplay skills or unbelievable parkouring ability, or harness magic, or fly. So, cosplay helps me think I can. I still realize I can't fly or be a superhero, but I'm pretty satisfied with the fact that many people feel the same way, so I'm not a weirdo or something, you know? That's what makes cosplay better, the fact that we all want to be powerful, and we can make all of these awesome costumes that make us feel like we can, and that we can be unified within this one idea. To all cosplayers new and old, think about this: "What's the best I can do?"

What are your next goals?

I'm trying to build a Risk of Rain cosplay, but I ran out of resources to build it. That is my goal for now.

What does Cosplay mean to you?

Who have been your biggest influences/role models/mentors?

Not many people, I usually think to myself how something would look in real life, and would strive to make it happen.

Do you have any advice or suggestions for upcoming Cosplayers?

Start out small, take your time, and always be prepared.

What is the most negative experience you've dealt with while cosplaying, and how did you handle it?

None really. I always hear nightmare stories of people being stomped on by ever-famous cosplayers, but I've never met anyone who tried to do that to me as a cosplayer.
