About JDRagones

Introduction - What is it like being a Cosplayer?

Hi! I'm Juli, the crazy dragon lady (?). I've started cosplaying not so long ago, around november 2013. For me cosplaying is an awesome hobby, because I feel creative while making the costumes and super happy when I'm characterizing my most beloved characters! You also get to know lots of people with the same interest, and most of them are very kind and supportive. It's a very nice community <3

What are your next goals?

I'm really looking forward to get better in terms of quality. For now, I'm planning on making Daenerys again (Season 4-blue dress version), and Shiryu gender bender.

Cosplay Characters

Until now, I've made Daenerys (Khaleesi version), Flame Princess (Adventure Time), Chun Li, Elsa (Frozen), Hades gender bender (Hercules) and Astrid from HTTYD 2.

What does Cosplay mean to you?

For me, cosplay is a way to express myself while having lots of fun. I can re-create the character as I want, giving it part of my own personality. I love that.

Who have been your biggest influences/role models/mentors?

In my case, some local cosplayers of my country are very inspirational, because they show you that you can achieve excellence no matter where you live. Two of them are definitely LadyLemonCosplay and Ana Bertola.

Do you have any advice or suggestions for upcoming Cosplayers?

Yes, three that are very important for me: 1) Don't give up! The best things come when you put all your effort in it. It won't be easy, but it'll sure be worth it! 2) Remember it's all about having fun. If you forget this somewhere along the way, stop, take a deep breath, and think why are you even bothering if you're not having fun. 3) Don't judge other people! You don't know how much effort did they put on what they're wearing, nor how harmful can it be to be laughed at. Be tolerant.

What is the most negative experience you've dealt with while cosplaying, and how did you handle it?

Well, luckily I haven't been so long around and I can't find any bad experience for now.
