Introduction - What is it like being a Cosplayer?

As a girl who spent an entire planning and prepping for halloween night, Cosplay was a natural hobby for me. I have always been the type of person who got overly attached to fictional characters in books and movies and the to dress up and become that character for one night was always such a thrill for me. I live in a city that hosts a very large convention every summer and my first time witnessesing the Cosplayers downtown I started my pursuit of becoming one of them. I started out small playing characters from TV shows and movies that wore clothes I could find in a store or goodwill and slowly I started getting more and more into fabricating props and changing roles of characters and becoming more imaginative to my designs. Im so lucky that I found a husband that understands my love of cosplaying and he also loves dressing up!

What are your next goals?

My next goals are Warrior Princess Ariel, Margaery Tyrell, Katniss, and Beauty and the Beast (Xmen).

Big Bang Theory's Sheldon Copper (My Husband), Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler, Penny, Rapunzel, Ice Queen, Big Bad Wolf, and Sookie Stackhouse.

What does Cosplay mean to you?

Cosplay has been the most amazing hobby! I have feel in love with it!

Who have been your biggest influences/role models/mentors?

Starbit Cosplay for sure has been my greatest influence! She is amazing!!

Do you have any advice or suggestions for upcoming Cosplayers?

Never give up and try not to be a perfectionist! Also let your imagination run wild! Make the characters your own and never break character!!

What is the most negative experience you've dealt with while cosplaying, and how did you handle it?

I haven't personally experienced anything but I know as a female there is a lot of overly sexualized costumes and I know there can be a lot of sexual harassment from people at conventions.
