I'm Subject Delta. I am striving to be an expert cosplayer and I have been cosplaying for a while now. And for me, being a cosplayer is not always about having the better costume or props or whatever. For me, cosplaying is mostly for fun. But Getting to be your favorite character even just for a day, is amazing. you don't HAVE to look perfect. Really. If you wanna be iron man made completely out of duct tape and cardboard, who can say no? And the best part is, there will ALWAYS be somebody who loves you. And there will ALWAYS be somebody who wants your picture. But sometimes, people you know don't support you, or think you're weird. To be honest, you shouldn't care what anybody thinks about you OR your costume. Doesn't matter the race, size, gender or age. You do what you wanna do and the most important thing of all- have fun! :D
My goals are to be Bigger and better. to MAKE my own costumes and make my own props.
I have not been to too many conventions. however, I have many more planned out. A lot. But my first con was the awesome con and there I went as a "Little Sister" Form BioShock. later, I went to the Otakon as Daisy Fitzroy. I went to a few more I think but I can't really remember... Future cosplays have already been determined. I love to make the costumes in advance because you should never rush yourself. Ever. Some of these include Tiny Tina, Boy of silence, And Sam from Trick r' Treat.
To me, cosplaying is about being your favorite character just for a day and being around people who share your interests.
Yaya Han. She is one of the best cosplayers I have ever seen.
Do not stress out over a costume, do not push your limits, learn to work with what you have, maybe even learn to sew! and practice makeup! It helps a lot. But always have fun.
I've never really had a true negative experience, however, when I first decided to go as Daisy Fitzroy, my step mom had an issue with it. I won't specify.
