Introduction - What is it like being a Cosplayer?

IT'S WAY PAST COOL! I there is nothing more soothing than fun than the feel of fabric going through a machine, waiting patiently as you craft it into something spectacular.... Unless you're doing it last minute, then it's very stressful and probably time to call a friend for help! @_@ I love that I get to be creative, and my limits are as far as I'm willing to take myself to achieve my goals!

What are your next goals?

My main next goal will be figuring out how to get lights to glow very brightly on a cosplay in daylight hours. I'm going to be working on Mega Kyogre from Pokemon and I want it to be spectacular! Other than that my goals include figuring out whether I should cosplay another Draculaura outfit or a Sonic The Hedgehog character for Comikaze Con :)

What does Cosplay mean to you?

It means getting to dress up as all of my favorite characters! And I get to be creative which I love~

Who have been your biggest influences/role models/mentors?

Kimba Sprite Cosplay, she goes beyond the distance to make beautiful work! She once said, "Why can't it be perfect?" when talking about Cosplay. It's true! Nothing is impossible, as long as you keep perfecting your skills and trying..... you can do anything! Keep on going!!

Do you have any advice or suggestions for upcoming Cosplayers?

Another thing, be organized!! I believe everything moves much more smoothly with a list and a calendar. You're less likely to forget things, and can plan out your time so that it's not all last minute or overwhelming!

What is the most negative experience you've dealt with while cosplaying, and how did you handle it?

I was actually fairly recently told that I can only pull off cosplays such as Swimsuit Jane because I'm young. The person said that the only reason anyone wanted my picture was because I am younger, and that once I got into my thirties like them I would no longer be desired like they were. I expressed to them that not only did I disagree with their beliefs, but that the focus should be on the originality of the designs and implementation of the cosplay. I don't think my message really got through to them, but I do plan on cosplaying the rest of my life because it's so much fun for me to just create things!
