About Kingfisher Girl

Introduction - What is it like being a Cosplayer?

Even though my facebook page is new, this year makes my 10th anniversary of cosplay! I make all of my costumes myself and love seeing outfits come together from the raw materials :) I love cosplaying - it gives me more confidence and nothing beats the looks on someone's face when they recognise you - I'm always looking for more opportunities to cosplay!

What are your next goals?

We just bought a 3D printed so I want my next costumes to incorporate 3D printed props, weapons or armour :)

Cosplay Characters

(oldest to newest) Sakura (Cardcaptor Sakura), Sakura (Tsubasa), Belldandy (Ah! My Goddess), Link (Legend of Zelda), Dawn (Pokemon), May (Pokemon), Serena (Pokemon), Haruhi (Haruhi), Manami (Manabi Straight!), Hazuki (Moon Phase), Applejack (My Little Pony), Princess Bubblegum (Adventure Time), Zelda (Zelda Skyward Sword), Anna (Frozen), Lissa (Fire Emblem Awakening), Isabelle (Animal Crossing New Leaf), Rosalina (Mario Galaxy) and Female Link (Hyrule Warriors)

What does Cosplay mean to you?

Cosplay is a chance for me to show my sewing and making skills and show my love for a character or series - It has given me so much more confidence over the years I've been doing it.

Who have been your biggest influences/role models/mentors?

I actually can't say I have any really - I love seeing what other cosplayers create though

Do you have any advice or suggestions for upcoming Cosplayers?

Be ambitiois but start with somethkng small so you cna start being rewlly proud of what you create. Each time you make something, try to learn one new skill whilst building on skills you already have - that way you'll be able to create amazing things each time!

What is the most negative experience you've dealt with while cosplaying, and how did you handle it?

The most negative thing really is myself - I tend to be my own worst critic!
