About 23rdDayCosplay

Introduction - What is it like being a Cosplayer?

Hi there, We started cosplaying as a second thought to attending cons in our local area (colorado DCC). We found out about Denver Comic Con 23 days prior to attending and in that time period decided that we would attend dressed up! We threw together our first costumes in a flurry of excitement and got such rave reviews that we have been costuming ever since!

What are your next goals?

We have quite a few planned up! Mouth of Sauron, Comic cell shading Aquaman and Ariel, Dante and Beatrice.

Cosplay Characters

Between the two of us we have quite a few. Gen 2 scorpion (Mortal Kombat) Dr. Frank (rocky horror picture show) Horsehead (drunk) Victor van Dort and Emily (corpse Bride) Flynn Rider/ Rapunzel (tangled)

What does Cosplay mean to you?

its simple. Cosplay is expression of self in its simplest and truest form. It means I get to be a kid again.

Who have been your biggest influences/role models/mentors?

Depends on the costumes. we utilize the community as a whole to draw inspiration from.

Do you have any advice or suggestions for upcoming Cosplayers?

Don't give up! Your first costume will not be your best and your latest costume wont be your last! Enjoy what you do and revel in the opportunity that you get to give people immeasurable amounts of joy!

What is the most negative experience you've dealt with while cosplaying, and how did you handle it?

We tend to cosplay more modest costumes and we have had some issues with making sure we stay true to our ideals with costuming.

Any final remarks or shout-outs?
