About AbbersM2

Introduction - What is it like being a Cosplayer?

I'm a casual cosplayer in the sense that I'd rather have fun running around in a costume rather than compete. Cosplay is liberating and beautiful. It feels amazing to be whoever you want to be and have others recognize your work. I'm a firm believer in cosplay for all. Rock what you've got and make no apologies!

What are your next goals?

I'm working on a female barbarian cosplay from Diablo III that I'm really excited about!

Cosplay Characters

Ursula from Little Mermaid, Mario from Super Mario Bros, Gandalf the Grey

What does Cosplay mean to you?

Cosplay means having the freedom to be creative, expressive, and silly. I love bringing characters to life while feeling free to be myself completely.

Who have been your biggest influences/role models/mentors?

I live for the art of drag and am inspired by drag makeup. One of my biggest role models is Rachel Wiley; she's a slam poet who breaks the stereotypes of what is acceptable and expected of fat women in America.

Do you have any advice or suggestions for upcoming Cosplayers?

Have fun! If you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there; haters are going to hate and that's their problem, not yours. There are plenty of people who will love you and appreciate you, so be confident and enjoy the experience!

What is the most negative experience you've dealt with while cosplaying, and how did you handle it?

I've been really lucky; aside from internet trolls, I've only received positivity and love.

Any final remarks or shout-outs?

Thanks so much for contacting me! For some reason, I couldn't upload a photo, but if you email me, I'll be more than happy to send you some.
