Hey my name is Kevin or Bat1939. I am very new at cosplaying. So I don't really know what it's like being a cosplayer. What I can tell you from working on my suit for about 2 months it's pretty stressful and it take time, you can't rush it.
Well first I would like to finish my Batsuit, I have the chest piece almost done but I still have a ways to go. However I have already thought about the next character that I plan to work on but hush.. I wont say a word yet.
Well being that this is my first cosplay, I havent had the luxury of doing any other characters.
Cosplay to me means creating something that shows off your passion for a character or characters that you love so much. I have been working on my Batsuit for about 2 months now and it is very stressful because I want it to look perfect. Batman has had such a big impact on my life that I want to do this to so my passion and love for the character.
First off my Mom has helped me so much whenever I need to talk about any plans and she has spend more time helping me then I could ever ask for. I thank you Mom. Also I would like to say a big thank to my girlfriend, I know that it has been hard and I get upset sometimes but thanks for sticking by me and being there for me. Love you hun.Next my big influence would be Batman The Animated Series, I have loved the show ever since I was a little boy and now that I am 25 I still love to watch it. I am basing my batsuit off of Batman Arkham Knight and the Batman Arkham games. I feel like these games are the best games around and they mean so much to me because they truly show who Batman really is.
Being a first cosplayer, I have learned so much. The main thing is take your time, dont rush it. Think about your plan and see if you can make it better before you even start. Dont be afraid to ask around, everyone has been so nice in answering my questions, so it doesnt hurt to ask. Dont be afraid to mess up and try new things or ideas. Also watch youtube clips... those helped me alot.
I havent really had any negative experience yet, but I guess you could say that when I first started I rushed it in to it very fast and I didnt think about my over all plan. I now know a different way that I could have done my chest part and I could have planed for it better if I didnt rush into it.
Remember to take your time and make sure that you are happy with it and that it shows off your passion!
