Introduction - What is it like being a Cosplayer?

First of all, thanks for choosing me to be apart of the interview. I'm a fairly new cosplayer, however I love it! My favorite part is being able to be apart of the community. I only have attended DragonCon and Anime Weekend Atlanta. There's just something amazing about being able to dress up as your favorite characters and express yourself along with hundreds or thousands of others. It's a really great feeling to have people compliment your cosplay as well. Cosplaying takes a lot of effort for anyone and the feeling you get when you finally get to show it off is absolutely fantastic.

What are your next goals?

My goals are to improve as a cosplayer overall. But first, I'd love to learn how to sew all of my own cosplays AND have them look good. ;) (I can't sew)

Cosplay Characters

I have cosplayed Mikasa and Sasha from the anime Attack on Titan, Ashley Williams from Mass Effect 3, and Super Sailor Neptune from the Sailor Moon Series.

What does Cosplay mean to you?

Cosplay is a hobby for me. Something I love doing with the people I love beside me. It's a great way to make new friends as well.

Who have been your biggest influences/role models/mentors?

I've met people at dragon con who have become cosplay rolemodels for me. Including, but not limited to, Tham, Yashuntafun, Bill Doran, Will Morgan, and Taylor Bennett.

Do you have any advice or suggestions for upcoming Cosplayers?

Don't be afraid! Do the best you can do. Be proud of that work always. And most of all have fun!

What is the most negative experience you've dealt with while cosplaying, and how did you handle it?

Being female, I have gotten my fair share of rude comments towards my body. I always surround myself with friends and do my best to ignore these kinds of people. Not everyone has a sense of respect for others unfortunately. However, it is always better to hold yourself to a high standard no matter how low others might hold themselves.

Any final remarks or shout-outs?

Live long and prosper!
