About Mazaki20

Introduction - What is it like being a Cosplayer?

It's a lot of fun! You get to go walk around and be a character you like for a few days.

What are your next goals?

Maybe once I lose some more weight, I'd like to cosplay Ryu's alternate outfit that is burned and torn from Street Fighter IV.

Cosplay Characters

So far, the only real cosplays I've done are Ryu from Street Fighter and Pepsiman.

What does Cosplay mean to you?

At first, it was an excuse for me to start getting stronger. A long time ago, I was very overweight. So I focused on losing out excess weight and building muscle. During those times, cosplay was another one of various reasons to stop being lazy and start getting healthier. Nowadays, it's another way to have fun. I've only done two cosplays, but I've had a blast doing them.

Who have been your biggest influences/role models/mentors?

My biggest influence would be the very first cosplay I have and still go as. Ryu from Street Fighter. His story is fairly straight forward and simple. He wants to continue his training and become even stronger. Alongside that, he encourages other people he comes across to always keep improving themselves.

Do you have any advice or suggestions for upcoming Cosplayers?

Find a character you know very well. If you're confident in your knowledge of that character, all should fall in place when planning out your cosplay. When you know your character well, you yourself will know what he or she looks like, what kind of poses they make, what they say, what they do, all of it.

What is the most negative experience you've dealt with while cosplaying, and how did you handle it?

I haven't really run into any negative experiences.

Any final remarks or shout-outs?

Nope. But it was fun.
